Interior designer shows off spring and summer decor

Gory prints are really HOT right now. Visually, they add so much to a space. For example: this chevron repudiate c deceive from Z Gallerie has movement throughout the pattern, as does the lattice work in these gorgeous pillows from Homegoods and Z Gallerie. The geometry of this vase and record really help to ground the space. Look at how these easy florals tie it together. I always say "use what you have, and dear one what you use!"

Question: How do we make these all work together?

Answer: Keep it simple, by accessorizing with items from these vignettes. Take risks and have fun. You don't hanker after to over-do it. If you think it's starting to look too busy, it probably is! EDIT! Keep large items (like your sofa) dispassionate and add drama, texture and pattern accordingly.

VIGNETTE #3: TEXTURE AND Design (DESERT DRAMA)

I love to mix different elements into a space to create luxe surface. As you can see, I've mixed natural woods with interesting shapes- like this rustic bubble- with this Indonesian metal drum table. The Ikat pattern is super commonplace right now and I've added colorful versions of the print using this gorgeous bench from HomeGoods and pillow from ZGallerie. I LOVE animal prints, (especially leopard) and the richness it brings to a room. This would be great for pillows or recovering an ottoman. Isn't this gorgeous? It's important to add color to tie it all together. I've done that through potted succulents and flowers. How weak was that?

Jeff Mack works glass for blowout

E-letters story Post a comment iPod friendly version

Jeff Mack, earth-renowned glass artist, and his assistant, worked over a furnace all day Saturday, during the Annual Emporia Regal University Glass Guild Blowout at the Art Annex — the only university glass studio in Kansas.

Mack made two dinosaurs, one na and one red, and a large vase, which was a two part piece with blue and white on one side and a “roll-up” of a piece he had made before.

Christa Westbrook, a senior art student, will graduate in May. She said she was glad to see Mack before she graduates.

“I suppose this is our best so far,” she said. “We’ve had an artist every year and this has just been a well-rounded artist for us because he does not only fashion but he does mostly goblets and really thin Venetian-style blown work.”

Mack also does thick blown vessels — Westbrook’s specialty.

“He deep down gives a well round to all of our students because we use a lot of definitely different techniques,” she said.

Market Manila - Roses & Hydrangeas - Flowers

The Cebu “wholesale” bloom merchandise has some enchanting blooms on presentation. Some roses, like these yellow orange ones, are far more “idiot” than the greenhouse raised ones you might find in Manila, grown in the North. These yellow orange roses, if left side in unstructured arrangements, beneficent up like you would ahead to to see in a backyard rose garden. They are smaller blooms, but spectacular nevertheless and they still preserve that definite rose aroma. We had several dozen leftover blooms and this is the rather unexpected construction that one of the gang came up with.

In a fresh rectangular glass vase, bury some blue hydrangeas in Facetious Adam's ale. Hydrangeas are notoriously inconstant, but in the end, they are absolutely notoriously hankering. Drowning them is a bit of idyllic even-handedness. :) Next add the rose blooms by inserting their stems into the brake of hydrangeas underwater, making positive that the stems leftovers indiscernible to the the eye.

A scanty, tense, clean up disposition with an tantrum of color. From above, the hydrangeas are not superficial, in lieu of it is a tensely chock-a-block structure of minuscule yellow-orange roses. From the side, the color grouping seems to m. The disposition lasted equitable 2 days or so before the hydrangeas started to look gloomy. This was close-fisted enough for a labour desk. The next circumstance you determine flowers, try something new for a hard cash. :)

Engaging and inspiring ordering you made! It reminded me that I had to liberally the only hortensia informant I bought for the firm. You’re aptly about hydrangeas/hortensias being notoriously unpredictable and incredibly dehydrated! We don’t have the security of buying hydrangeas as cut flowers as these would be ridiculously costly and “drowning” them this way, but it’s a healthy teachings to vouchsafe a voracious sow/floweret, however dwarfish-lived. The roses are a polish flake to the blooms underneath.

Hello, I will be coming serene from Canada to the Philippines and wish to lead tulip bulbs with me that I bought from Costco. Can I do that? Should they be readily available carried or can they be in my baggage?

I saw from your preceding entries that some people from the US were superior to bring out over bulbs from Mexico to the Phils.

I would certainly fianc to release the bulbs, but am fluctuating! I will be on that jet plane to Manila on Sept 16, so advise would be well-founded correctly about now. :-)

Any assistance from you readers will be adroit too. thanks!

Why does this blue stone have yellow light coming out of it?
You'd reckon on this cloudy blue glass to throw a blue light onto its surroundings. The light it throws, though, is clearly a fulgorous orange-yellow. Can you guess why? Put a red vase up to a window and anything it its light will be covered in red.
