Dog taking you for a walk? Hey, you're the boss!
30.06.11
Some dogs traipse beautifully alongside their owners, trotting along at an even pace. However, this isn't the case for everyone, and when a dog pulls on leash it makes walking much less enjoyable.
There are some dogs that plow way before with their owners in tow behind, and others who like to take the time to sniff all the roses along the way.
Whether your dog is full of forward drive, or willing to explore, a dog that pulls makes the walk much less pleasant.
One great source of pulling problems happens before the amble. In an effort to make the walk a fun and exciting time, many dog owners hype their dogs up.
The dialogue "walk" can become such a source of excitement, a simple utterance can origin some dogs to become almost uncontrollable! Simply saying the w-word or picking up the leash can cause such devotion, it is nearly impossible to clip on the leash and in many cases results in scrambling for the front door.
This is the dawn of a pulling problem in your pet. When we wind our dogs up, it's no wonder they are flying out the door, excitable to get going.
