Events Mark 50th Year of Planters Garden Club of Winter Haven
The Fun'draiser Regardless — "Celebrating 50 Years Together" — was held at the Winter Haven Garden Center. Members decorated the center in memorialization of the 50th anniversary. To display the ages represented by the membership, the club was divided into three groups. The divisions were "The Oldies but Goodies" representing the higher- ranking members, including some of the charter members from the 1960 club. Representing the heart division were "The Baby Boomers" and finishing up the membership were "The Newbies," which represented the most fresh members.
"The Oldies but Goodies" decorated their table in golden fabric denoting the 50th anniversary concept and pictures of the charter members. "The Baby Boomers" sported John Lennon sunglasses, with the ambience of the disco theme, which included tie-dye fabric with a peace symbol along with LP album covers of The Beatles, 45's and a fondue pot.
The "The Newbies" decorated with a new age chic look of palm fronds and palmetto leaves. Important above was a banner donated by Sign Effex announcing the celebration of the club's 50 years.
