India's Food Inflation Rate Drops Again

(RTTNews) - India's annual sustenance inflation rate fell for the second successive week to 7.61 per cent for the week ended June 25, on the back of cheaper payment of cereals, vegetables, fruits and rice. It remained in single digit for the 15th consecutive week.
Advances in monsoon pick up prospects of further decline, at least in food prices even as concerns over the headline inflation last due to rising global fuel and commodity prices.
Annual inflation sort of food article prices, as measured by the wholesale price index, or WPI, (with base year 2004-05) for the week ended June 25 hew down to 7.61 per cent from 7.78 in the preceding week.
Percentage of inflation for the corresponding week in the aforementioned year was 19.88 per cent. The 52-week average inflation for the week ended June 25 was 12.80 per cent, according to text released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
Annual percentage of inflation for "Non-Sustenance Articles" declined to 17.69 per cent from 17.91 in the preceding week. The 52-week usual inflation for the week ended June 25 was 23.82 per cent.

(RTTNews) - After an escalating last week, India's annual food inflation rate fell mostly to 7.78 per cent for the week ended June 18, on the back of cheaper value of fruits. It remained in single digit for the 14th consecutive week.
Annual inflation velocity of food article prices, as measured by the wholesale price index, or WPI, (with base year 2004-05) for the week ended June 18 cut sharply to 7.78 per cent from 9.13 in the preceding week.
Percentage of inflation for the corresponding week in the above-stated year was 20.12 per cent. The 52-week average inflation for the week ended June 18 was 13.03 per cent, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
Annual percentage of inflation for "Non-Provisions Articles" declined to 17.91 per cent from 18.43 in the preceding week. The 52-week usual inflation for the week ended June 18 was 23.87 per cent.

Annual rate of inflation for the week ended June 18 was 11.84 per cent, down from last week's uniform of 12.62. It was 19.58 per cent for the corresponding week of the preceding year. The 52-week usual inflation for the week was 16 per cent, the data revealed.
